Youtube has revealed plans to partner with production companies and new media groups to add 100 original programs and provide users with niche-oriented videos.

Google has invested over USD 100 million in establishing these partnerships, according to dawn.com media outlet.
The first original channel is set to appear on YouTube in November 2011. In addition, YouTube plans to introduce a new digital video platform that is expected to rival television programming.

This is not the company’s first attempt in building a more advertiser-friendly product of professional-quality video. YouTube has also previously tried to convince viewers to stay longer with TV-like services like the YouTube Leanback.
