7-Eleven has announced that it will bring Apple Pay and Google Pay to most of its US stores, starting with September 2018.

The company announced earlier in August 2018 that the arrival of the two payment methods at 7-Eleven was imminent, along with the CVS pharmacy chain. The addition of the payment options is aimed to help promoting mobile payment among many users. The company has more than 66,000 locations in 17 countries. The US currently makes up about 14% of that market.

Earlier in September 2018, Apple has landed in a regulatory grey zone regarding its plans to launch a Unified Payments Interface-based payments platform in India.
