Aconite, Thales partner for secure smart card and mobile app personalisation

French-based provider of information systems and communications security Thales has entered an agreement with Aconite, a UK-based provider of mobile application management and EMV transaction processing services, to enable card and mobile application issuers as well as transaction processors to deliver secure smart cards and mobile application personalisation.

Under the agreement, Aconite services integrate with Thales payShield 9000 hardware security modules (HSMs) to provide chip personalisation, transaction processing as well as management processes.

Thales e-Security, part of the Thales Group, provides data encryption and cyber security solutions to the financial services, technology manufacturing, government and technology sectors. Thales e-Security has offices in France, Hong Kong, Norway, US and the UK. Thales is a global technology provider for the defence & security and the aerospace & transport markets.

Aconite delivers smart product management services for payments including EMV, Chip & PIN and contactless, mobile, loyalty, transit and e-ID. Aconite issues and manages chips on devices and also processes their transactions, supporting instant issuance and prepaid payment applications as well as smart applications.

In recent news, Aconite and Canadian technology company Paymobile have entered a partnership for the EMV Prepaid Card Issuance Program Management in Canada.
