UAE-based financial services provider Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has joined forces with telecommunications company Etisalat to roll out an interactive mobile financial service powered by the latter’s new Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) technology.

The technology developed by Etisalat is set to ensure interactive communication between the bank and its customers via mobile devices. Thus, clients will be able to initiate money transfer transactions as well as make monthly card payments and payments for utilities from their mobile phones. In addition, the Etisalat service allows them to obtain information on the banking services offered by ADIB.

Etisalat is a provider of mobile and fixed-line voice and data services and operates in 18 countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
