airsMobile launches TaxiRadar mobile smart meter system

Wednesday 26 June 2013 00:10 CET | News

Mobile gateways provider airsMobile has installed TaxiRadar, a smart meter taxi system designed to meet the DC Taxi Commission (DCTC) regulations for Payment Service Providers. A consortium composed of DC taxi company USA Cabs, airsMobile and US-based mobile point of sale (POS) services provider PayAnywhere have combined resources to provide the DC taxi industry with this mobile system.

For passengers, the TaxiRadar E-hail smartphone app allows users to see the GPS location of available taxis in real-time and to hail one with one-touch. The taxi sees the users’ location and the user continuously sees the taxis location as it approaches. For drivers, the TaxiRadar system allows drivers to see E-hails from passenger smartphones and to send a message directly to a passenger’s smartphone confirming a pickup. At drop-off, both passengers and drivers will benefit from the credit card payment capabilities that are now mandated by the new DCTC regulations.

In recent news, PayAnywhere has launched a new version of its mobile point of sale (mPOS) app for iOS, along with a new and enhanced merchant portal dubbed PayAnywhere Inside.
