Thursday 13 October 2011 14:33 CET | News

US retailer American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) has announced that it is set to introduce the Google Wallet mobile payment option for its customers. The so-called ‘tapping spree’ is available by the end of October 2011 at selected AEO, Aerie and 77kids stores in the Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., and New York areas.

Google Wallet is a smartphone app that allows customers to pay for their purchases by tapping their mobile devices to a Google Wallet-enabled terminal at checkout.

To introduce shoppers to Google Wallet, Google brand ambassadors and trained AEO sales associates will help customers through the process of using Google Wallet on Sprint Nexus S 4G loaner phones which will be pre-loaded with a USD 10 gift card.
