Android Pay set for UK debut next month

Monday 29 February 2016 10:27 CET | News

Google is set to debut its Android Pay transactions service by the end of March in the UK.

The service works in a similar way to Apple Pay, allowing users to load their Visa and MasterCard credit or debit card details on to a smartphone equipped with a near-field communication (NFC) microchip.

Shoppers will be able to pay at retailers equipped with a contactless payment terminal, with their identity verified by their smartphone’s fingerprint reader.
