Australia: ANZ rolls out ePOS payment application pilot for iPhone

Friday 16 April 2010 11:36 CET | News

Australian financial services provider ANZ Bank has rolled out a pilot version of a new iPhone payment application, itnews.com reports.

Dubbed ePOS Mobile, the iPhone application is set to enable small businesses to accept credit card payments via the mobile phone. The application has already been tested by a number of retailers, such as whitegoods supplier Fisher & Paykel.

In February of 2010, UK card issuer Barclaycard has revealed plans to pilot an iPhone POS terminal that would also enable contactless payments, and include a cash accounting tool for small business customers.
