Bango launches Wi-Fi on-bill payment for mobile content sales

Mobile payment and analytics company Bango has launched a Wi-Fi enabled operator billing service for smartphones.

Wi-Fi. Bango’s new Wi-Fi on-bill payment technology aims to allow operators and content providers to capture revenue and capitalise on the increasing popularity of smartphones such as Blackberry and the iPhone. Bango’s service allows operator whose billing normally relies on traffic coming through operator gateways to carry out on-bill payment for content purchased via mobile phones, even when consumers connect using Wi-Fi.

Bango Payment provides smartphone users with click-to–pay billing across Wi-Fi and operator connections. This service aims to provide a high conversion rate for mobile contents providers so as to facilitate their access to additional revenue from end users.
