Monday 17 October 2011 15:30 CET | News

UK credit card, insurance and loan services provider Barclaycard has joined the NFC Forum, a non-profit industry association that aims to advance the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, at a Sponsor level. This highest level of admittance grants Barclaycard a seat on the NFC Forum board of directors, the governing structure of the organisation.

Also, advertising agency Dentsu and Sequent Software, a provider of software for NFC payments for mobile devices, have joined the organization as Principal members, the second-highest level of membership.

These members can also participate in the NFC Forum testing and certification program using their own in-house test labs.

In addition, the NFC Forum recently acknowledged 26 new Associate, Implementer, and Non-Profit members from across the NFC ecosystem.
