Tuesday 30 August 2011 08:05 CET | News

BlueVia, the global API program of telecommunication services provider Telefónica, has entered an agreement with US online mobile payments company Boku, to launch a new billing API which enables developers and merchants to link in-app payments to mobile operator bills.

Under the terms of the deal, Boku will support BlueVia’s in-app payments with its bank-grade mobile payments technology. Telefónica will be able to offer Boku’s billing platform to developers, who will be able to use Boku’s functionality directly in their apps to charge services directly to customers’ mobile bills.

Based in San Francisco with offices in Europe and Asia, BOKU reaches over 2.5 billion consumers worldwide. With localization in 28 different languages, BOKU operates in 64 different countries, across 230 different carriers globally.
