BOKU, Gumtree.com in m-payment services deal

Thursday 16 December 2010 10:27 CET | News

US mobile payments provider Boku has entered an agreement with website Gumtree.com, in a bid to enable users to pay for classified lists via their mobile phones.

As a result, Gumtree users can pay for listings and other features on the website by entering their mobile number and being charged directly to their mobile phone bill. At checkout, Gumtree and other participating eBay Classifieds group properties display multiple payment options, including credit cards and BOKU payments.

Then, users who pay by mobile enter their mobile phone number to checkout. After they receive a text to confirm the payment, the charge either appears on their mobile phone bill or is deducted from their pay-as-you-go credit.

BOKU is connected to over 220 mobile operators in 65 countries.
