US online mobile payments company Boku has entered a carrier billing partnership Switzerland-based mobile network operator Swisscom with a connection to the MNO’s direct billing API.

When making purchases, consumers simply enter their mobile phone number at checkout and receive a PIN number which can then be entered into the payment panel to confirm the payment with the charges appearing on their wireless bill.

The direct billing API supports desktop web, mobile in-app, and mobile web 1-tap payments, a user authentication process, notification of billing errors impacting purchase, continuous pricing, enabling merchants to provide a wider range of price points.

In recent news, Boku has entered a partnership with Bigpoint Sarl and Co, SCS, a Luxemburg-based online gaming platform.
