US-based payment technology company Hypercom has received Class-B certification for the SPOS32 EMV software on its Optimum T4200 and M4200 mobile product suite from Elavon, a subsidiary of US Bancorp.

With the new certification, Elavon can process credit card transactions originating from Hypercom’s devices in Canada. Hypercoms Optimum 4200 product portfolio for North America consists of 32-bit multi-application devices that share the same platform, user interface, and software toolkit.

In addition, the Hypercom Optimum product portfolio includes the T4205, T4210, T4220 and T4230 countertop terminals, as well as the M4100, M4230 and M4240 mobile card payment terminals.

In a recent development, Hypercom has entered a three-year agreement with German retail chain REWE Group to provide the latter with its Artema Hybrid PIN Pad payment systems.
