CDTM, PAY.ON join forces for m-payment technology development

Friday 17 July 2009 14:42 CET | News

The Germany-based Centre for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) has entered collaboration with online payment services provider PAY.ON on a research project to develop a mobile payment technology for developing countries.

The goal of the project is to create a service that can be used without an internet connection, based on a combination between a prepaid voucher-based payment capability and a banking platform with virtual account.

PAY.ON collaborates with CDTM teams in the product development within the mobile payments sector and in a project on Social Communication & User Participation. The CDTM is a joint interdisciplinary Center of Excellence of education, research and entrepreneurship of the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich and the Technical University of Munich. The centres search activities are focused on the telecommunications, information technology, media and entertainment sectors.
