Monday 2 November 2009 10:01 CET | News

Mobile Money Ventures (MMV), a provider of mobile financial services, has partnered Citibank for the launch of a mobile banking offering from a foreign financial institution in China.

Dubbed Citi Mobile, the service enables customers to access and manage their bank accounts using their phone`s mobile browser. Thus, they can view their account summary, transfer money and browse the latest product information. The solution makes use of two-factor authentication to prevent any personal data from being cached within the mobile device. The initiative is aimed at both English and Mandarin-speaking users.

Citi and MMV have also collaborated to implement mobile banking services for customers in Hong Kong, the United States, the Philippines and Singapore, while additional deployments will be announced in Asia, the U.S. and Europe in the near future.
