Citi India, a subsidiary of Citigroup, has launched the Cash-To-Mobile service to enable its corporate clients to collect receivables from their retailers or customers using mobile payment technology, online media outlet thehindubusinessline.com reports.

According to the same source, the transactions are settled with customers through the National Payments Corporation of Indias Interbank Mobile Payment Service. This allows the remitters account to be debited and provides a transaction confirmation to the customer.

The Cash-To-Mobile application identifies remitters through their mobile numbers and automates reconciliation of orders and collections by linking to the companys Enterprise Resource Planning service.

Citi provides consumers and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage and wealth management.

Citis franchise in India includes businesses such as equity brokerage, equities distribution, private banking and alternate investments and private equity.
