US mobile parking technology provider QuickPay has entered a definitive agreement with US parking company City Center Parking to pilot new payment options and value-added services within the latter’s facilities in downtown Portland, US.

Under the terms of the deal, City Center Parking customers are set to be able to find and pay for parking with their mobile phones using the free QP QuickPay smartphone app, available as a native app for iPhone and Android devices and as a browser-based app accessible through any smartphone, including BlackBerry or Windows Phone. The service is set to be also made available to anyone with a phone via SMS text.

With QP QuickPay, drivers can receive text message alerts when their pre-paid time is running out and add time remotely without having to return to their vehicle. Parking receipts and history are also available online.

In recent news, Russian-based global m-payments and e-commerce technology group Net Element International (NETE) has closed an agreement to acquire Quickpay, a proprietary payment terminal network. Under the terms of the deal, NETE is set to operate Quickpay via TOT Group, Net Element International’s mobile payments and transaction processing holding company.
