Swedish security and mobile technology services provider Cybercom has developed technology that has allowed it to transform a mobile telephone into a digital wallet.

Cybercom has teamed up with a payment solutions provider, to develop the technology that will enable contactless payments at parking meters, stores and vending machines.

Cybercom’s pilot project connects NFC technology, which makes it possible to complete a payment transaction by simply swiping the mobile, with WPKI technology, which ensures high security when making payments through the mobile. The company will showcase its new products at the Mobile World Congress, a mobile trade show that takes place in Spain between 15 and 18 February 2010.
