EastNets, Qtel Group partner for mobile remittance services in Nepal

EastNets, a global provider of compliance and payments solutions and services, has entered an agreement with Qatar-based telecommunication services provider Qatar Telecom (Qtel) Group to extend its en.MoRes network coverage in Nepal, online media outlet ameinfo.com reports.

According to the source, customers are set to be able to use the Qtel Mobile Money service to transfer funds to Nepal. The money transfer service allows users to transfer funds to financial institution Himalayan Bank which provides connection to payment networks. Payments sent through the en.MoRes network are paid through the HimalRemit system in Nepal.

en.MoRes interconnects Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and banks via the SWIFT financial messaging network.
