EnStream, RIM team up for mobile wallet services

Canadian wireless device company Research In Motion (RIM) has been selected by EnStream, a joint venture between Canada-based mobile carriers Rogers, Bell and Telus to enable Canadian consumers to pay with their smartphones through mobile wallets.

Under the agreement, RIM is set to manage security credentials for SIM cards in BlackBerrys and devices running both Google’s Android and Windows operating systems.

In recent news, EnStream was set to launch a mobile wallet service in Canada by the end of 2012.
