Ericsson launches mobile wallet services as part of its m-commerce portfolio

Tuesday 21 February 2012 00:45 CET | News

Global mobile telecom company Ericsson has launched two new services within its m-commerce portfolio to provide consumer brands with the infrastructure needed to connect m-wallets across a global m-commerce eco-system.

The services include Ericsson Converged Wallet and Ericsson Merchant Wallet.

The Ericsson Converged Wallet can convert the accounts of consumers already on the Ericsson Billing & Charging Solution to m-wallets. Thus, customers worldwide who are already using a type of first generation m-wallet voice accounts can be converted to next generation m-wallets through Ericsson Converged Wallet.

The Ericsson Merchant Wallet service is set to provide internet brands and merchants with services including payments, virtual currency transactions and loyalty points.

In October 2011, Ericsson launched its In Application Payment service based on their Internet Payment Exchange (IPX) service platform, integrated in over 120 carriers.
