French developer of telecommunications software systems eServGlobal has won a USD 12m strategic framework contract with a mobile operator group in the Middle East and North Africa.

Under the agreement, using eServGlobals software, the operator group will deliver mobile money services to its subscribers across countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

The solution encompasses a mobile money platform, enabling services including electronic top-up, mobile wallets, mobile banking, online payments, salary disbursements, peer-to-peer money transfer, micro finance, bill payment, payment at a merchant and airtime recharge.

In recent news, eServGlobal and South African mobile payments and financial services provider Oltio have joined the MasterCard Mobile Money Partnership Program (MMPP), an initiative launched in February 2012 and designed to enable financially-underserved consumers around the world to use their mobile phones to access mainstream financial services.
