FIME achieves EMVCo qualification in North America

Provider of consulting and market integration testing services for smart devices and secure chip-based applications FIME America has achieved test bench qualification for EMVCo Contactless Card Level 1 in North America, authorizing the advanced testing provider to offer contactless card level 1 testing services for EMVCo members. The laboratory will service the needs of the US market, as well as customers based in Canada and Latin America.

EMVCo is the EMV standard body for credit and debit payment cards based on chip card technology. It has an established certification program to confirm products meet the requirements outlined in the EMV specifications.

FIME America partners with schemes and industry bodies to provide certifications and enhance the secure chip ecosystem. FIME’s Montreal laboratory offers American Express, Isis, MasterCard Mobile certifications as well as card and terminal testing for Discover Zip, Interac Dual Interface, STAR Certiflash and MasterCard PayPass. FIME also contributes to the EMV Migration Forum initiative to share its secure chip knowledge and support the US in streamlining its certification processes.

FIME ensures the compliance of mobile devices and chip-based applications to industry standards. Its international team works with manufacturers, banks and authorities within the EMV payments, mobile near field communication (NFC), telecom, transport and e-identity sectors.
