First Merchant Services to launch mobile payment app

First Merchant Services, a strategic sales partner of US financial institution United Bank Card, has teamed up with POS and electronic payment services provider Charge Anywhere to develop a mobile payments app for smartphones and tablets.

The app is set to be compatible with Apple, Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile OS devices.

The standard hardware for this program is a free of charge magnetic stripe reader which attaches to the phone through the device’s audio jack. This device is compatible with Apple, Android and BlackBerry handsets.

If merchants require a receipt printer, First Merchant Services offers a printer with integrated mag stripe reader for Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices and another model for Apple devices.
