Flint launches mobile payments app

Monday 19 November 2012 08:48 CET | News

Flint Mobile, a US-based mobile payments company, has launched its mobile payments application for small merchants that uses a phone’s built-in camera to scan card numbers, online media outlet techcrunch.com reports.

How it works
After a card’s numbers are scanned and digitized, they are sent to Flint without being stored on the device and the payment is then authenticated with a zip code and on-screen signature.

Customers can share business reviews and recommendations on social media after making a payment, customize receipts, create loyalty offers, program a range of pricing options/menus and include sales tax and tipping. And finally, Flint also offers a kind of online “dashboard” of sorts, where merchants can get an overview of all transaction activity.
