Monday 4 April 2011 14:29 CET | News

Ghana-based universal commercial bank uniBank has gone live with ARC Mobile, the multi-mobile channel platform developed by Swiss-based banking software provider Temenos.

ARC Mobile was launched in May 2010 to assist Temenos customers in leveraging the rapidly-growing market for mobile banking services; a market that, in revenue terms, is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in excess of 35 percent and is expected to reach USD 25 billion by 2014 – according to data provided by Temenos.

To date, 12 banks have selected the ARC Mobile platform, with uniBank being the first customer to go-live on it. Via the ARC Mobile platform, uniBank customers are able to view a minimum of ten transactions per statement. The bank can centralise access to mobile operators and directly interface with their mobile money schemes to offer mobile top-up services direct from a handset.
