US-based mobile payments start-up GoPago has launched its cloud-based mobile payment service in San Francisco, online media outlet mobile-ent.biz reports.

According to the source, the GoPago service allows consumers to use their mobile phones to order and pay for goods or services in advance at registered local stores and then show the merchant a receipt on the phone screen when collecting their purchases.

The launch is part of a trial program in partnership with US-based financial services provider JPMorgan Chase who made an investment in GoPago in February 2012. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
