Groupon brings Groupon Reserve offering to mobile

Wednesday 31 July 2013 07:57 CET | News

Online group vendor Groupon has added its premium “reserve on mobile” channel to the Groupon mobile app, allowing iPhone users to employ the Groupon app to book tables at restaurants in their city at discounts of up to 40 percent.

Customers can thus make, view, share and modify restaurant reservations in the 10 existing Groupon Reserve markets across the US: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington.

The Reserve reservations platform gives customers a discount off their entire bill without requiring pre-payment or vouchers. Groupon plans to add the Groupon Reserve functionality to Android devices and the iPad, as well as launch Reserve across more cities in the United States and key international markets.

In May 2013, Groupon announced it would be rebranding its wider payments service and the final version of the free iPad app under the name of Breadcrumb, its payments and commerce service for restaurants.
