Groupon launches new version of Groupon Merchants app for Android

Online group vendor Groupon has launched a new version of its Groupon Merchants application for Android-powered devices which includes Groupon Payments to allow merchants to accept credit cards via their smartphones, online media outlet techcrunch.com reports.

According to the source, merchants can use the application to redeem Groupon deals, scan barcodes, view transaction history, add tips and taxes, make refunds, email receipts and look at other purchasing and daily deals analytics.

Launched in 2008, Groupon features a daily deal on leisure activities, on what to eat, see and buy in 45 countries worldwide. Groupon uses collective buying power to offer huge discounts and provide a win-win for business and consumers, delivering more than 1,000 daily deals globally.

In recent news, Groupon has completed the acquisition of Savored, a provider of reservations at the best restaurants across the US. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
