Handpoint launches mPOS system for merchants

Thursday 23 May 2013 11:19 CET | News

Iceland-based provider of mobile payment services Handpoint has launched its new chip and PIN mobile Point-of-Sale (mPOS) system for small, medium and enterprise merchants.

Handpoint mPOS enables merchants to accept chip and PIN card payments with a mobile device and can be adopted across mobile platforms using the Handpoint API, while security is delivered by a point-to-point encryption (P2PE) on the Handpoint chip and PIN card reader. Merchants can use their existing mobile and PC checkout systems without having to undergo additional security certification processes.

Handpoint was founded 13 years ago and it specialises in payments on smartphones, tablets and handhelds, enabling merchants to accept all card payments including MSR, EMV and NFC.
