HDFC Bank launches mobile banking in Hindi

Indian financial institution HDFC Bank has launched its mobile banking application and the Hindi SMS banking service for Indian customers Hindi speaking regions.

The application is set to allow users to access mobile banking services in Hindi from their Android smartphones including balance enquiry, checking transaction history, fund transfers and bill payments. The Hindi SMS banking service allows customers to carry out a set of banking transactions including balance enquiry, mini statement and stop cheque.

HDFC Bank has also launched the Netsafe on mobile with which customers can create a single-use virtual card for shopping on the internet.

In April 2012, HDFC Bank has teamed up with financial services provider Wells Fargo to allow US-based non-residents to remit funds online or via mobile devices to their beneficiaries in India.
