Global provider of payment services Ingenico has entered a partnership with UK-based card processing services provider SilverPay to supply mobile and countertop payment units to taxi fleets across the UK.

A first contract for the new service has already been secured with a medium-sized taxi fleet in Gateshead.

Under the agreement, SilverPay is set to provide taxi and private hire payment specialists with Ingenico’s EFT930G, a GPRS-enabled mobile payment service and the iCT220, a countertop chip and pin device for secure transactions.

SilverPay was founded in 2002 and it provides payment services to private transport operators as well as first line support and issue resolution for customers.

In recent news, Isis, a US mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, has partnered with Ingenico, US-based NFC software and systems company ViVOtech, payment processing and security vendor Equinox Payments and US-based electronic payment services provider VeriFone Systems to integrate the Isis mobile commerce application in current and future product lines.
