The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a mobile website to enable bookings via mobile phones, online media outlet travelbizmonitor.com reports.

According to the same source, in order to provide customers with the possibility to book tickets via their mobile phones, the IRCTC partnered with payment service providers NGPAY, ATOM and Paymate.

Therefore, users can employ their user IDs to enquire or book tickets through the mobile website. The application is functional on GPRS/browser-based phones. After booking a ticket, the passenger will receive a message with full details of the ticket including PNR, train number, date of journey and class.
