Isis, a US mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, has entered an agreement with retail fuel dispensers Wayne and Gilbarco Veeder-Root to integrate the Isis SmartTap mobile commerce application into pay-at-pump technology.

Under the agreement, Gilbarco Veeder-Root is set to integrate the SmartTap mobile commerce application into fuel dispensers which will be installed at convenience stores across the US. Wayne will integrate the application into the NFC reader used with the Wayne iX Pay Secure Payment solution. As a result, consumers are set to be able to pay, present loyalty cards and redeem offers with a tap of their Isis-enabled phones at the gas pump.

In recent news, US retailers Aeropostale, The Coca-Cola Company, Champs Sports, Dillard’s, Foot Locker, Jamba Juice and Macy’s have entered agreements with Isis to use the latter’s pay-by-smartphone system in stores.
