KFC is using AIRTAG’s Airshop Solution, which is an all in one package platform that enables proximity retailers to launch self-branded interactive mobile and web apps for ordering and payments. KFC will be piloting Airshop in ten restaurants across the UK. The app is available for iPhone users and the web app is soon to be available for all connected devices.
The KFC Fast Track app comes equipped with geolocation to locate the nearest KFC, mobile & web ordering and payment capabilities, a mobile check-in feature for in-store order recall and a customer account so users can store ordering history, favourite products and payment details for one click payments.
How it worksUsers download the iPhone app in the app store and select the closest or preferred ordering location from a geolocated list of KFCs with the service. Then they compile an order by selecting desired products and pay by credit card. After the order is paid for, they check their device for a QR code and order confirmation number for order pick up at KFC.
Upon arrival at the selected ordering location, the user will do a mobile check-in to let KFC staff know they are present in the store. After doing the mobile check in, the user gets to skip the line and proceed directly to a unique checkout dedicated specifically to KFC Fast Track users. In the future, KFC Fast Track is set to include geofencing so users can do the mobile check-in before arriving at the restaurant.
In recent news, AIRTAG has launched AIRPASS, a white label mobile wallet for retailers, banks and mobile network operators.
