US mobile payments start-up LevelUp is set to make its payments application available at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville to allow consumers to pay for goods and purchases at concession stands with their mobile devices.

LevelUp provides an iPhone and Android QR code mobile payments application for consumers and a terminal system for merchants to process payments. Users “unlock” loyalty credit when they use the LevelUp app to spend a certain amount of money at a business. With its new Causes feature, LevelUp allows to donate part of the unlocked credit. Initial causes partnered with LevelUp are Feeding America, Jumpstart and the Massachusetts Democratic Party, the same source indicates.

In recent news, LevelUp has added a feature that allows users to donate part of their earned loyalty credit to a cause.
