Mahala partners with First Data for payment processing services

Thursday 6 June 2013 09:01 CET | News

First Data, a global provider of electronic commerce and payment processing services, is set to power credit card transactions for Mahala, a mobile payments app for merchants, content owners and nonprofits.

On June 10 2013, Mahala is set to launch a limited-availability beta version of its mobile payments app with select partners on the Android operating system. With the app, consumers can scan the company’s QR codes with their phones to complete transactions. As Mahala users scan sellers’ S-QR codes, bank account information is never stored at the point of purchase – unlike credit cards or traditional QR payment systems.

In recent news, First Data has selected HP Converged Infrastructure to launch its VisionPLUSFlex solution, which enables financial institutions to process payment portfolios of up to 10 million accounts.
