MCX partners Southwest Airlines, Brinker for m-payment services

US-based airline company Southwest Airlines and multinational hospitality industry company Brinker International have partnered with mobile payments network Merchant Customer Exchange to provide customers with a mobile payment option.

The mobile wallet technology will use barcodes and the cloud to allow retail customers to pay via their smartphones. The technology will also help merchants with loyalty programs and customer data. MCX has not announced an official launch date as the product is still in development.

In recent news, MCX has selected Dutch digital security company Gemalto to build its mobile wallet.
