Under the agreement, MDT is set to provide Bluepoint’s QwikDeposit Home and ToGo remote deposit capture (RDC) services to its credit unions.
QwikDeposit is set to allow credit union members to make cheque deposits from home or from their smartphones using the devices camera. Members key in the deposit amount and then either scan or take photos of the front and back of each cheque deposited. Deposits from both capture points are then included with the credit unions cash letter and processed for posting and clearing.
In October 2011, Bluepoint Solutions launched a fraud detection suite which detects and flags potentially fraudulent cheque deposits.
