Mi-Pay, Tesco Telecom in top-up services deal

Tesco Telecom, the provider of the International Calling Card service, has selected UK-based mobile financial services company Mi-Pay to supply a new top-up service to its operations.

Under the terms of the deal, Tesco Telecom’s service is set to work on Mi-Pay’s Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certified platform. Thus, the service is expected to allow customers to manage and add credit to calling card balances, purchase airtime and set up regular recurring payments at a frequency of their choice.

Mi-Pay is set to manage the transactional data between the customer portal, the bank clearing house and Tesco Telecom. In addition to payment, billing and registration, Mi-Pay is expected to offers operational support, risk management, as well as transaction security and regulatory compliances.

In a recent development , Mi-Pay has entered a partnership with UK mobile communication provider O2 to enable the latter’s customers in the UK to top up their mobiles using credit and debit cards.
