Mobistar rolls out direct carrier billing service for Google Play

Tuesday 27 August 2013 00:40 CET | News

Belgian telecom company Mobistar has launched payment for content on Google Play via mobile phone bill or prepaid card credit, whether for buying apps, games, music or e-books.

Belgian Android smartphone users who want to buy apps, games, music or e-books on Google Play can do it by entering their credit card number. Mobistar enables users without a credit card to make purchases via their mobile phone bill or via the credit on their prepaid card.

Customers are able to consult a list of their multimedia purchases in their customers’ zone, accessible via the Mobistar website. When making a purchase, users receive an email containing details of the content downloaded. Customers can cancel their purchase during the 15 minutes following the download by clicking the ‘refund’ button. This cancellation works for applications and games but not for music and e-books.

In recent news, Mobistar was set to launch a direct carrier billing service that allows Windows Phone users who are Mobistar customers to pay for their content purchases on Marketplace via their mobile phone bills.
