MoneyGram, Iris Wireless and Globe Telecom ink contract

MoneyGram has entered an agreement with US provider of messaging services Iris Wireless and Philippines-based telecommunications company Globe Telecom.

Under the terms of the deal, MoneyGram and Iris Wireless are expected to provide global prepaid mobile top-up services for Filipinos living in the US who intend to stay connected with friends and family in the Philippines. As a result, MoneyGram is set to provide load service for US consumers who want to re-load the mobile phone minutes of individuals in the Philippines who use Globe Telecom as their service provider.

MoneyGram is expected to offer the service via its network of ExpressPayment retail agents, which counts 35,000 locations in the US.
Iris Wireless is connected to over 850 network operators in 200 countries.
