UK-based mobile financial technology company Monitise has entered a partnership with CGI Group, a provider of information technology and business process services, to provide mobile money services to banking and payments companies in Europe using Monitise’s technology platform.

The partnership between the two companies combines Logica’s, now part of CGI, IT and consulting services, payments expertise and local market knowledge in Europe with Monitise’s mobile money functionalities.

The partnership is initially set to focus on European retail banks in the UK, Benelux, Nordics, Germany and France.

CGI was founded in 1976 as a provider of business and IT consulting services, systems integration, application development and maintenance, infrastructure management as well as proprietary solutions.

Monitise delivers mobile money solutions, enabling financial institutions and other service providers to offer mobile banking and payments services to their customers in both developed and developing markets. In recent news, Monitise has appointed Brad Petzer as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director.
