Monitise partners JETCO to launch m-payments service in Hong Kong

Global mobile banking and payment services provider Monitise, via its Asia Pacific joint venture, has entered a partnership with Joint Electronic Teller Services (JETCO), a payments business and network of ATMs in Hong Kong and Macau, to launch mobile commerce services.

Under the terms of the agreement, Monitise Asia Pacific and JETCO are expected to launch a mobile prepaid top-up service in Hong Kong for mobile operators, thus providing prepaid customers with the option to pay via their mobile devices.

JETCO runs over 2,000 automated inter-bank teller machines in Hong Kong and Macau. Monitise develops its banking, payment and commerce services in Hong Kong using its Globe technology platform.

Monitise Asia Pacific is a joint venture with Hong Kong direct investment firm Far Eastern, created in a bid to develop mobile banking, payment and commerce services in the Asia Pacific region.

In recent news , Monitise and its partners in Nigeria have rolled out a mobile payments service in the country, media outlet africanews.com reports.
