Wednesday 13 November 2013 08:12 CET | News

Global provider of mobile payment services mopay has inked an agreement with maxdome, a Germany-based video online store, to provide the latter with direct carrier billing service.

Under the terms of the deal, the video-on-demand platform is set to enable customers to complete their payments without pre-registration. This payment offering is available for users who have an active subscription with any mobile carrier in Germany. The maxdome content catalogue can be ordered and paid with mopay.

New users of the platform who do not want to fully register beforehand are able to ‘pay by SMS,’ when choosing a film. Opting for this version requires consumers to text a short code to initiate the order and payment process. There is no need to register and share personal data to use this payment option. The amount is set to be billed to the respective mobile phone account.

mopay provides direct carrier, landline and broadband billing options for online merchants in more than 80 countries through its payments platform.

maxdome provides approximately 50,000 movies, TV series, documentaries, concerts and children’s films for download or streaming.

In recent news, mopay has entered a carrier billing partnership with telecommunication services provider Telefónica Digital, a global business division of Telefónica.
