mVisa to expand to 10 countries

Monday 27 February 2017 00:39 CET | News

Visa has announced that mVisa, its QR-based payment service, will soon be available to merchants and consumers in Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Pakistan and Vietnam.

mVisa allows consumers to use their mobile phones to make cashless purchases at merchant outlets, pay bills remotely and send money to friends and family members by linking their Visa debit, credit or prepaid account to the mVisa application.

It digitizes the underlying account and allows consumers to transfer funds from their account to the retailer’s account by scanning a QR code.
