MasterCard Europe and French identification, detection and e-document solutions company Morpho, a subsidiary of Safran Group, have launched mobile PayPass Near Field Communication (NFC) services for Polish banks.

The MasterCard mobile PayPass is a contactless payment feature that allows users to perform transactions by tapping their phones on a terminal.

The agreement enables customers of Polish banks to access mobile PayPass services independent of their MNO connection.

Morpho processes the secure downloads and manages the lifecyle of the PayPass application on an NFC phone using its Trusted Service Management (TSM) platform.

In recent news, MasterCard has launched its NFC payment services in Brazil, using Mobile PayPass technology. The project was launched in partnership with Brazilian mobile network operator TIM Brasil, financial institution Banco Itaú, Dutch digital security company Gemalto and Brazilian acquiring company Redecard.
