UAE-based financial institution the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has entered an agreement with Indian financial institution Federal Bank to launch a mobile remittance service which allows UAE customers to transfer funds to banks in India, online media outlet ameinfo.com reports.

According to the source, the new feature is part of NBAD’s Arrow service, a mobile-based SMS payment service powered by UK-based provider of mobile financial services Luup. The service allows users to send money to MoneyGram locations in 192 countries through SMS messages. The new feature enables NBAD and non-NBAD customers to send remittances to bank accounts in India with their mobile devices.

NBAD has recently enhanced its mobile application services. The enhanced application provides financial and non-financial services such as locating NBAD branches and ATMs as well as information about products and services. In addition, NBAD mobile app users can send their feedbacks and queries or talk to NBAD representatives through email and call centre services that are built into the application, the same source indicates.
