Netsize introduces global billing service for application stores

Friday 31 July 2009 00:55 CET | News

Netsize, a mobile business and entertainment solutions software developer, has launched a global billing service for application stores.

Dubbed the Smart Application Billing, the tool allows application stores to make use of operator-based billing to charge for application downloads and usage. It also enables charging from the mobile application itself. The Smart Application Billing is based upon a combination of three billing options, namely Direct Operator Billing, Premium SMS Messaging and WAP Billing. With the first billing method, an installed application on a mobile handset can initiate a billing transaction via Netsize directly to the user’s mobile network operator, while by accessing WAP Billing, the user makes the payment outside of the application on a mobile internet payment page.

Smart Application Billing dynamically will indicate the preferred billing method to the application, according to the characteristics of the consumers network operator.
